Crane deemed illegal after being taller than the state capital

The construction on 12th and Q street just off City Campus is causing quite a ruckus among the citizens of Lincoln. With the continual closing of Q street and the giant crane, people are losing their minds.

“It’s hard to get to the interstate. I have to take a thirty-second detour and it is just ruining my commute to Omaha,” says the annoyed mother of 7, Karen Bradley. Just like Bradley, many citizens are bothered by the main street being blocked, but one citizen has a bigger problem with the construction.

Our lead baldy in office, Pete Ricketts, is furious over the crane that is towering over “his” downtown. Ricketts is claiming the crane is guilty of breaking Lincoln city laws, saying that is is taller than the state capital.

During his hourly “I need attention and want to piss people off” session on Twitter, Ricketts complained that the “crane is not only an eye-sore but is breaking Lincoln building code LBC4269, which states no building may be larger than my state capital.”

Many Nebraskans are replying with great criticisms saying “It isn’t your building Petey boi,” and “why are you so worried about the size. Just because someone else is bigger than you doesn’t mean you have to complain about it to the world.” We attempted to contact Governor Ricketts about this size controversy, but he had only a short reply.
