Dorm whiteboard new pinnacle of comedy

Walking down the halls of Abel 8, one might think this is just a normal dorm hall with freshmen excitedly rushing about trying to settle into their new lives here at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Once you find yourself at room 806, you’ll realize this dorm floor is taking comedy to unexplored heights.

“I’m majoring in anime,” reads the room’s whiteboard, scrawled in black marker across its top. The message resonates with everyone walking down the halls, men and women, young and old, bringing laughs all around and making the day of the nameless author who resides inside the room.

Underneath the profundity of the top messages is a drawing of Homer Simpson eating a donut and saying his catchphrase “Doh!”

This social commentary puts a smile on even the most jaded cynic’s face.

“It’s just so refreshing to have someone so talented in the art of comedy living right here on Abel 8,”  said Henry Dawson, Abel 8 RA and certified zombie doomsday planner. “I just remember living here not two years ago as a scared and wide-eyed freshman and no one had the gall to push the limits of comedy the way whoever lives there does.”

Dawson told The DailyER that he’s never seen anyone leave or enter room 806 and is under the impression that a real ghost lives there and is putting the knee slappers on the whiteboard.

Not even housing staff is sure who lives in the room. While their identities may be a mystery, one thing is for sure: they sure are funny.
