5 insanely cool things to expect at the high-tech new UNL Dairy Store

Recently, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced that the famous campus Dairy Store would be packing up from its current location on East Campus and moving to a brand new building, while the ice cream and cheese production facilities will relocate to Innovation Campus, which is home to many innovative projects and companies. The DailyER sat in on a meeting detailing the new concept idea of what the new and improved Dairy Store will look like. Here are five amazing new things to expect from the revamped Dairy Store.

1. 3-D Printed Ice Cream

Who needs cows when you’ve got technology to make the dairy for you? UNL announced the ice cream sold in the new Dairy Store will be 3-D printed right in the store, able to be customized to an assortment of different flavors ranging from Frosty Field Turf to Selleck Stir Fry.

2. Robot Cashiers

If you were looking for an easy on-campus job during the school year, you might want to skip to #3. The days of having students ring up other students for their ice cream orders are a thing of the past! Engineers at UNL are designing realistic artificial intelligence designed to take your orders just by scanning your brain! Yep, all you have to do is think of the ice cream you want and NOT think of any embarrassing secrets, otherwise the robots may judge you for your insecurities!

3. Virtual Reality Ice Cream Eating Experience 2000

If you thought eating ice cream in an ice cream store was exhilarating, get ready for the all-new Virtual Reality Ice Cream Eating Experience 2000! Not only will this experience give you the power to eat ice cream wherever you want in the world, it will also give you the power to experience eating ice cream with friends, which we know you don’t have any.

4. SpaceX Hyperloop

We’re not really sure why, or even how UNL was able to get SpaceX to route the currently-in-design Hyperloop through the new Dairy Store. But, if you’re looking to get to New York or California really fast, maybe to visit your relatives you haven’t seen in years, then you can hop on the Hyperloop here!

5. Bootleg Runzas

You thought Runza was going to stay away from campus forever? Think again! The UNL Dairy Store will have a secret room behind the counter that will sell bootleg Runzas to students itching to get their daily Runza fix. Take that, Chick-fil-A and Steak ‘n Shake!
