Nebraska Cornhuskers football has always been a team of tradition. Fans from across the country show support for the team, no matter how good or bad they are doing. Being a member of this historic team is an honor not many get to have. To say you wore the scarlet and cream on Football Saturdays speaks volumes.

However, last week, 25 year old Lincoln native Cody Howard was spotted wearing a vintage Husker jersey in downtown Lincoln, and sources confirm that Howard is not on the current Nebraska Cornhuskers football roster, nor has he been on any past rosters.

“Cody Howard? That name doesn’t sound familiar to me,” said current Huskers head coach Scott Frost. “I’m not even sure where he was able to get a jersey like that. Only football players should be able to have access to football jerseys. This guy is definitely a poser, he is NOT on the team. Whatever you do, do not believe this man.”

Eyewitnesses confirm Howard was spotted on Saturday at Buffalo Wild Wings wearing the Husker jersey.

“I can’t believe he would do something like that,” said Matt Saunders, Cody’s friend who was with him at Buffalo Wild Wings. “What kind of sick person would pretend to be a Husker football player? That’s not cool, man. Those players work hard while Cody slacks off every day and walks around acting like he’s a big shot. What a douche.”

Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos said Howard will be banned from attending any future Husker football games.

“This is not only a disgrace to the University, but the entire state of Nebraska,” said Moos during a press conference. “No one should ever impersonate a Husker football player. If I ever catch anyone pretending to be a football player, I will add them to the ban list. This is no joke, folks.”

Sources also confirm Howard returned to the same Buffalo Wild Wings a day later, sporting a LeBron James Cavaliers jersey, although not looking anything remotely like LeBron James or ever being a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers team.
