Rick Hartley doesn’t have much time for political correctness, or as he calls it, “being a liberal pussy”.
According to sources, the area libertarian has a lengthy history of loudly listing off political issues to anyone within earshot, utilizing just enough lengthy words as to appear not entirely batshit.
According to witnesses, this past Friday Hartley took his crusade against the oppressive federal government one step further by suggesting that the concept of racism should be defined by individual state legislation.
“I mean, I don’t know what the issue is about,” Hartley said. “Whatever stuff is happening in Missouri or New York or whatever isn’t relative to us. I think that we should be able to decide what exactly racism is and whether or not it’s still a thing.”
“The federal government has no right to dictate what people can and can’t do under the pretense of ‘ensuring equal treatment under the law’ or ‘basic human dignity.’ If a baker doesn’t want to bake a cake for a gay couple, that’s their right not to do so. Likewise, if a restaurant owner refuses to serve black people, he should have the freedom to decide whether or not an entire demographic of people are beneath him.”
When questioned as to whether he thought his views were at least a bit racist, Hartley became indignant and proceeded to rant for 20 minutes.
“I’m absolutely not a racist; I’ve never once been racist and I have a friend who I think is Mexican or something. Honestly, this is what reverse racism is all about,” Hartley said. “Just because I’m a white male who happens to think that people should have the right to deny service to any group of their choice based on personal bias, you think I’m a racist. I never said people should do that. That’s not okay. But, like, if they wanted to, then dammit they should have that right. If a black store owner wanted to refuse service to all hispanic people, then let them do it. If a Guatemalan wanted to refuse service to Asian people, that should be legal. Just as long as nobody refuses white people service, because that’s reverse discrimination.”
