Pandemonium erupted in the Adele Learning Commons this morning as students were yet again met by a person-less booth of free coffee. This automated booth brought disappointment and anger to many students, who expected to be served by Ronnie Green personally handing out coffee.
“I was honestly expecting him to be here. It just really is killing the vibe of my finals week,” freshman Patrick O’neal said unprompted to this reporter, while waiting in line to get my coffee.
Students just like Patrick are outraged at the lack of follow-through of the Chancellor of this great university. Makki Lucas, an outraged biochem major, stated plainly that “if he isn’t willing to stand out here 24/7 and hand out coffee to all of us, then I don’t think he should be in charge of the university.”
A small group of exhausted students have started a petition to remove Chancellor Green from his office, citing his “incredible lack of discipline and a blatant disregard for the needs of his students.”
Within this controversy, Chancellor Green has failed to issue a statement and many believe that he never will. Our staff at the DailyER tried to reach him for a comment, but could not because he was in a meeting. However, this reporter could smell coffee coming from his office and it smelled better than the vending machine coffee.
