Top 5 coffee shops based on the vibe

Lincoln, being the college town that it is, has two things right off-campus; Bars and coffee shops. Since some of our readers are lame and can’t legally regret a night on the town, we here at the DailyER are helping you all find the best coffee shops just off-campus. Our ranking system is completely arbitrary and just based on gut feelings, instead of being basic and rating them off of vanilla lattes, because that is way too basic and most people don’t enjoy vanilla lattes. So here are the DailyER’s top 5 coffee shops based on the vibe.

  1. The Foundry

Arguably the newest coffee shop, the Foundry has the lowest vibe out of the first five coffeeshops we could think of. The name gives off a bad Industrial Revolution vibe, which no single person these days is a fan of. The art style is one of a tech start-up located in downtown Minneapolis. So overall vibe, an industrial revolution start-up that sells extra pollutant coal. 2/10

  1. Scooters/Starbucks

Let’s be real everyone. Both these companies are essentially the exact same thing, yet we are afraid to admit it. Starbucks is just a sleek looking green version of the red welcoming Scooters. They both produce coffee for thousands of people daily. They are staffed by underpaid and overworked dead-eyed employees. So overall vibe, capitalism. 4/10

  1. The Mill

So this really depends on which one you go to. The Mill @ Telegraph, really chill and fun to go to on a hot summer day. The Mill in the Haymarket, a small cozy space for studying on a cold snowy evening. But during the fall and spring, they both are just okay, I guess. Just based on winter and summer, 10/10. Based on the rest of the year, 2/10. Overall, 6/10.

2.The Bay

Okay, let’s be real. As much as we all think we are “cool” and “hip,” we need to stop thinking that skateboarding is lame. Tony Hawk is still funny on twitter for one reason, we still all love skateboarding. This place has skateboarding, art, the best cold brew in Lincoln, a really welcoming environment, and parking. Overall, 9/10.

  1. The Coffeehouse

The Coffeehouse. What is not to love? The coffee is amazing. There is brickwork throughout the building. The food is great. The tables and chairs have a worn-down feel. The backroom is the perfect place to start a revolution to destroy the unjust world we live in now. They have a butterbeer flavored latte. What isn’t good? Overall, 10/10.
