College student finally realizes that his classes weren’t stupid – he’s stupid

Just this week, while complaining to his classmates about yet another dumb assignment, College Senior Keith Heidad realized that maybe his class was not stupid, he was. Keith had always complained that most of his classes were a waste of time, and that UNL offered few classes with any real value. But now, he realized just how stupid he had been.

“Me and my friends would always complain about the stupid classes we had to take just to get our degree. It made each dumb class seem a bit more bearable when we complained about the pointless assignments, or photoshopped our annoying professor into ridiculous situations.”

Keith’s epiphany brings up an interesting point in today’s college climate. With the price of tuition continuing to skyrocket, new students expect real value from the classes they take. This may make younger generations of students more critical of the quality of their education after highschool.

We asked Keith’s English professor, Dr. Kooper, for his opinion on the matter. “The quality of the classes we offer here at UNL is the highest in all of Lincoln. Maybe even all of Southeastern Nebraska! Keith is finally right for once though. He is definitely on the lowest end of the grading pool in my class. Which is weird, because the rest of the students I teach are Freshman. Wait, he’s been photoshopping me? Is that why I keep seeing memes of my daughter’s quinceañera?”

After his lightbulb moment, Keith could not continue to face the reality of his situation. “Maybe I’m not stupid. Or at least maybe I’m not stupider than the average college student.” – Keith lied.  “Maybe constantly complaining about how each class is a waste of time is the true college experience. That and the crippling debt of course.”
