After recent tweets making light of sexual assault against women, State Senator Bill Kintner has made enemies inside and outside the Nebraska Legislature–many of whom are asking for his registration. No one, however, has been more vocal against Kintner than State Senator Ernie Chambers, who has campaigned to get Kintner out of public office ever since Kintner admitted to using a government-owned computer for cybersex.

Chambers has used memos and threats of reading the cybersex manuscript on the legislative floor to try to embarrass Kinter into stepping down, but Chambers is taking his campaign one step further by creating and starring in his new one-man show at the Tada Theatre.

The production, “Kintnergram: The Bill Kintner Cybersex Manuscript,” is a dramatic reinterpretation of Kintner’s steamy Internet relationship.

Chambers has always had an itch to try acting, but until now has never had any inspiration to go on stage.

“I’ve always been too busy trying to help my district that I’ve never had time to consider my ambitions,” Chambers said. “But because Kintner still holds public office, I figure my threats of dramatically reading government documents would be better suited for the stage.”

Kintner’s recent actions have also inspired Chambers’ call to the stage, but Chambers insists that he must not go off script and honor the work’s original writing.

“I would love to include Kintner’s new situation in the play, but as an actor I must be faithful to the words on the page,” Chambers said. “Don’t get me wrong–he’s still a huge ass, and this play will reflect that. If you’ve treated women poorly recently, you’ve probably treated them poorly in the past.”

While Kintner has accepted scrutiny from across the state, he said Chambers is going too far with this play and would like him to stop.

“Listen, I have feelings too. When some bully picks on me for my mistakes it really hurts,” Kintner said. “All I did was misuse government property and marginalize women and assault victims. Why does he have to pick on me like this?”
