Say goodbye to good old Lincoln as the spread of urbanism infects Nebraska’s most unexpected areas.
In a recent study directed by University of Nebraska-Lincoln geography students, it was found that the city of Omaha is growing exponentially. In the next 5 years, Omaha is expected to expand by 35 percent as business booms across the city. Consequently, it will swallow the small towns between itself and Lincoln and will encompass the city of Lincoln as well.
Native Lincolners have expressed their disbelief in a recent rally located outside of the Nebraska State Capitol.
“This is a complete and utter disappointment on the state’s part. Lincoln is Lincoln, not Omaha,” said 20-year Lincoln resident Chris Andrews.
Since Lincoln has been home to the Capitol since 1867, hundreds have questioned what this now means for the location of the Nebraska State Capitol.
Gov. Pete Ricketts addressed this change during his formal speech.
“The capital city is now Omaha,” Gov. Ricketts said.
It’s time to saddle up and prepare for the Omaha Takeover.
